Seasonal Services

Along with our regular Sunday worship service, there are special services and events that mark our life together.

Advent: The four weeks leading up to Christmas is a time marked by special Advent music, candle lighting, reflection, and preparation.

Christmas Eve Service: A family-friendly evening service of lessons and carols and candlelight are woven together in a beautiful celebration of the birth of Christ.

Ash Wednesday Service: An evening service to mark the start of the Lenten Journey towards Holy Week. Ashes are offered at this prayerful and somber service.

Lent: Lent is a time of personal reflection and spiritual exploration between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday. A Lenten book club takes place during this time.

Palm Sunday: The start of Holy Week is marked by a celebratory Palm Sunday worship with processional palms and hosannas!

Maundy (Holy) Thursday: A moving service marking the last supper, betrayal, desertion, and execution of Jesus. This service, which includes a shared meal, scripture reading, and hymns, makes the beauty and mystery of Easter more complete.

Easter Sunday: A Resurrection Celebration of Christ is Risen! A family- friendly worship of special music, flowers, brass instruments, and after worship an egg hunt for children.

Children’s Sunday: In June, the children of the Sunday School offer a Sunday worship that they plan and lead. This is a fun and inspiring service as the children share what they have learned during the year.

Blessing of the Backpacks: All students and teachers are invited to bring their backpacks, school bags, or briefcases on the Sunday immediately following Labor Day weekend for this special ceremony at the end of the worship service.

Rally Sunday: The second Sunday after Labor Day weekend, we mark the unofficial start of the church year with choir resuming and a special luncheon.

Giving Thanks Sunday: Usually the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving, we celebrate the culmination of our stewardship campaign by dedicating our pledges for the upcoming year and give thanks for the blessings of the past year.
