PENTECOST SUNDAY is May 23, 2021. This is the Sunday that we celebrate the birth of the church through Christ’s gift of the Holy Spirit. This year we are planning to meet on Zoom with our sister church, Hough’s Neck Congregational Church, UCC (HNCC), in Quincy, Massachusetts. (This is the congregation where our Pastor Jean Halligan Vandergrift‘s husband, Steve Vandergrift, is the minister. Please see a Zoom link below, and note this is different from our normal Sunday worship Zoom link.
You are invited to wear something red (the color of the day) to the service. During the online worship service, the children will be invited to participate in the scripture reading by doing sound and visual effects, the two choirs will merge for the anthem, both musicians will play pieces, Pastors Jean and Steve Vandergrift will do a dialogue sermon, and Alisa Halliday will assist the pastors with the bidding prayer time.
