We are a community of progressive, inclusive Christians. We believe that faith is a journey and we at RCC enjoy that journey together, working to develop ourselves as individuals and caring people. We govern ourselves, and are also part of the larger denomination, the United Church of Christ. We believe that since Jesus never turned anyone away, the church — which is His body on earth — should also welcome everyone. As a congregation, we:
*Recognize that each person’s relationship with God is unique and cannot be determined by others;
*Acknowledge that every person is made in the image of God and is precious and valuable;
*Seek to be a community in which people can foster and grow in relationship with one another;
*Hope to deepen our trust in a loving and creating God who made all things whether or not they are fully understood by us;
*Recognize that each person interprets and embraces beliefs according to his/her personal revelations that God provides through experiences, ability to reason and his/her
interpretation of the Bible.
*Partake in two sacraments: Holy Communion and Baptism. In Communion we receive the cup and the bread in remembrance of Jesus and as an invitation to his presence. In Baptism we become part of the family, accepting the joy and cost of discipleship.
